Ingredients
21⁄2 cups dry USA lentils, rinsed
5 cups water
1⁄2 cup molasses
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon vinegar
1⁄2 cup tomato catsup
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 15-ounce can tomato sauce
2 tablespoons minced onion
1⁄4 teaspoon liquid smoke
Directions
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Combine lentils and water in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer, covered, for 30 minutes or until lentils are tender but still whole. Add remaining ingredients to cooked, undrained lentils.
Turn mixture into a casserole and bake for 45 minutes.
